FROM HEAD TO HEART

A Men's Journey

An intensive, experiental, non-residential gathering for men

With

Dov Glock, M.A.
&
Ashanti Fraser, M.Ed.

In beautiful Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

THE CONCEPT:

• This is a new, non-residential format, bringing this exciting men's workshop to the city.

• We will be offering this experience on a regular basis (approx every three months), thus creating an on-going experience where you can continue to monitor the commitments made, get feedback and experience progress.

• We will be offering active energy opening experiences that work to reconnect ourselves with a broader range of who we are.

• There will be quiet time to integrate and active time to test our limits.

• We will share from our personal experience as well as our 20 years of working together offering men's workshops.

• Men in relationships will be a prime focus of our being together.............men with their intimate partners...........men with the other men in their lives.........men at their work ...........men in their family........... men in their community..............men in their politics.

• We will offer ways to reconnect with our male lineage and explore the history of the men in our lives.

• We will look at our physical being as it relates to our health (statistics about men's life span improving but still shorter than women?)

• We will initiate frank discussions about sexuality, health, maturing, aging, tools to improve communication, creating a vision, sharing inner feelings, male stereotyping, the beliefs we hold that work for us and those that don't, identifying our values and living them, waking up to life and living it fully.
You will have ample opportunity to share and receive feedback if you want it

• This will be a time to play with the idea of giving up what you think you know and explore the unknown. We will look at issues around what seems to be a world going to hell and creative ways to support the changes that seem necessary.

THE LEADERS:

Dov Glock, M.A. has had a rich and varied life experience. His professional career has spanned the business world, the arts and the field of human development. He has been a personal and relationship counselor for over 36 years and an architect/planner and design consultant. He is an artist and a singer, who is currently performing with an inspirational Gospel Choir. He continues his work as a workshop leader with a special focus on body release work. He has traveled the world, including an extensive stay in NYC where he established a coaching practice for performing artists and also trained and worked as an actor and model. His 35 year relationship with his partner, Devon Ronner, has been a source of great learning, inspiration and pleasure.

With an ongoing commitment to fulfilling his own dreams, Dov offers his skill and passion in supporting people to value their unique talents and take the practical steps to manifest these gifts in their lives.

Ashanti Fraser, M.Ed., C.C.C.combines a strong education in counselling psychology with a longstanding interest in Eastern and Western healing traditions and spiritual approaches. He has over 25 years of experience in working with people both individually and in groups throughout North America and Mexico.

His special areas of interest include body release work, support to connect with a deeper, more meaningful sense of self, creative lifestyle changes and the expansion of consciousness in everyday life.

He maintains a private counselling practice in Victoria, British Columbia, where he lives and works with his long time partner, Sarah Fleury. Together they share the joys and thrills of parenting their fourteen year old daughter with consciousness, creativity and awareness.

Throughout the 1980's and 90's, Dov & Ashanti worked with hundreds of men in intensive seminars exploring the miracle and the power of men coming together and dropping into a more direct and energetic part of their beings. Their "Men: the Body and Energy" and "Brothers In Arms" workshops were full of challenge and excitement. They provide a forum for the creative exploration of individual issues, of what it is to be a man and of relating in the company of men. Now, after being off on diverse paths, they have reunited to bring fresh insight and energy to their work with men. They are both extraordinarily skilled and creative facilitators and in this new and exciting adventure, they bring their unique approaches in offering another fiery container of inner experience and personal discovery.

Here are what some recent participants in an Head to HeartSeminar had to say:

"My experience at the Head to Heart weekend for men was significant. Ashanti and Dov created a safe and supportive environment where men could be free to care for and support each other while engaging in some meaningful experiences. The opportunity to experience and honour my masculine energy that is often discouraged in daily life allowed me to discover reserves of energy and passion that I was unaware existed in myself. As a result I am able to deepen my connections with others while being more clear and direct in my intention and communication."

Richard Nevin - Counsellor

" To be honest I was apprehensive about spending a long weekend with strange men, let alone being expected to be open and honest as well! My nightmares were filled with visions of men dancing nude in the Lake Cowichan wilderness or simply running around some ritualistic fire. Instead Ashanti and Dov encouraged me to be whoever I was. I felt welcomed. I was still that frightened and sceptical male with all the baggage that I had accumulated in a half millennium and the thought of any honest expression, be it primal or personal, was not yet in my skill set.

In less than half a day I found myself in a safe place, both physically and spiritually. It was only then that my journey of self-caring and honest communication took its first steps along my path that I alone was able to journey. I am well on my journey and I am certain that it can only be attributed to this treasure of an experience that I wish all men could muster the courage to take."

Mark E Fellner – coach and teacher

"Thanks for the weekend. It's hard to verbally express even part of what happened for me this past weekend other than to say the experience was mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally moving. Moreover, the submerged energy within myself, and I think the group in general, was both enhanced and nurtured to the surface in a very healing manner which really managed to encompass the moment for what it was.... beautiful.

The "Head to Heart" experience has very much enlightened my sense of being as a worthwhile person in a pretty external and superficial world . Seminars such as this, I believe, nurture my soul as well as my outlook in general, which manifests into a sense of freedom from the seemingly endless pressures of life . Thank you from the bottom of my open heart."

Ted Gamble - counsellor

"The time I spent over the weekend gave me a deeper understanding of who I am as a man and who I can be with other men, it brings sadness to me to consider the effort that I and I believe other men go to to close down available choices. For a while in my life I have been trying to put together what I can bring to this life, the weekend has given me more to build with."

Simon Thomson - ecologist
